When you pick up your Canon R6 Mark II for the very first time, you may notice a slight rattling sound and feel like something is loose inside the body.
When I first heard this, I automatically thought my brand new camera was broken or defective.
But that wasn't the case, just a common misconception.
This is completely normal for the Canon R6 Mark II.
What you are hearing is the IBIS (In-Body Image Stabilization). When the camera is powered off, the IBIS is disengaged. This allows the stabilization mechanism to move slightly, which creates the rattling sound when you move or tilt the camera.
Turn the camera off again then the sound returns as the IBIS disengages.
The only thing you should avoid is shaking the camera aggressively. A slight rattle when the camera is off is normal and expected. Nothing is wrong with your camera.
This behavior is by design and part of how the IBIS system works in the Canon R6 Mark II.
Your Canon R6 Mark II is functioning exactly as it should.
